It will include an in-depth analysis of how women—working in a multitude of capacities—are contributing to the development of sustainable, durable peace and security.

Who We Are

The Council of Women World Leaders is a network of current and former women presidents and prime ministers. The Council currently has 35 Members.

The Council and its Ministerial Initiative create a a collective voice for women at the highest levels of government.

Mary Robinson, President of Ireland (1990-97) is Chair of the Council, and Margot Wallström, First Vice-President of the European Commission is Chair of our Ministerial Initiative.

The Council Secretariat is housed at The Aspen Institute in Washington, DC, USA.
